The place itself is beautiful, and if I could buy a home in this area, I'd be happy with one here rather than somewhere more prestigious. I only used the bar, though, and it feels a bit dated. The staff were courteous, even if the place looked a little shabby. The breakfast croissants are thawed and baked in the morning, which is fine unless the previous day's batch has run out. For now, the place is just okay in my view, partly because of some information about the owner that seemed a bit sly.

If you can, don't stop here. I was terrified. We ate only because we felt obliged, and afterwards we had stomach problems. The service was poor. The owner may be doing what he can, but the place should be closed or put in someone else's hands. There were starving people around us, so thin it was pitiful. We gave them bread and melon, and they ate.

The view is beautiful, but the place feels straight out of the 70s or 80s and is now having a rough time. We stopped spontaneously for lunch and really shouldn't have. The spaghetti alle vongole looked good on a neighboring table, so we ordered it, but it was bad, barely edible, and came in two measly portions. The owners love cats, which is fine, but stray cats jumping onto guests' food and eating it while it's being prepared is too much. Then they charged us twice. The "nice" lady at the till said she hadn't noticed we were together, even though apart from a larger group and our neighbors, we were the only guests. At least I only paid for one portion, the absolute minimum. Worst experience we've had in years. A hygiene inspector really should come and see them. Avoid this place!
