Podere Le Caprarecce

The setting is lovely and peaceful, but the camping village GITAV (?) seemed poorly managed. It wasn't clear who owned the property or which number to call in an emergency. The water stopped working one evening and still hadn't come back by morning, and it affected everyone staying there. Management didn't seem to know, and a full day later nobody had checked on it. Maybe we were just unlucky, and I hope that's all it was. About a week later, a 50% refund was being processed. There were mosquito screens on every window, but no air conditioning. In the peak summer heat, only one of the three rooms was bearable, thanks to a breeze through windows open on both sides.

We really appreciated having a washing machine and dishwasher, especially as a family with children. The campsite pool was another good option for the kids, and Cala delle Cannelle was close enough to visit after a 5-kilometer dirt road. That road isn't a good idea in a sports car or a low vehicle, though we got through without trouble. The view is stunning, and the cared-for lawn and greenery made this feel like a peaceful break from daily life. A helpful young woman came by each day with information and assistance, so we didn't have to wait at the campsite reception. Her courtesy also helped us put some bad experiences with other staff behind us. It's a place to consider if you want to relax in nature.

Getting there by car is possible, though the access is quite difficult. Register first at the campsite by the road so you don't end up driving onto the off-road tracks unnecessarily.

The apartments were clean and looked after. It's a really lovely, quiet spot with a splendid view.
