Casa Destradis B&B

Oria itself is a little gem, well worth wandering around and discovering. This B&B is also a great base for a holiday: seaside resorts, Alberobello, and lots of other pretty villages are about 20 minutes away. It’s centrally located, with friendly staff, and the rooms are quiet, clean, fresh, and well furnished. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent. I’ve stayed in plenty of B&Bs, but this one really stands out.

You can spend the day exploring Salento and come back to the quiet whitewashed lanes of Oria, which is well worth visiting. Restaurants and taverns for all tastes, with reasonable prices, are only steps away. The place itself has a warm welcome, spotless, inviting rooms, and a generous breakfast. Its large terrace looks out over the dome of Oria Cathedral, and the setting has a lovely feeling of times gone by.

It looks lovely and welcoming, with a Salento feel, but it wasn’t as clean as I’d expected. The furniture is old and very worn, the bathroom is tiny, and the bed was genuinely torturous. The children’s beds were old adapted bases stacked on top of each other. There was a complete lack of COVID-19 precautions. For what’s offered, the price seems far too high.

I only had one night here, but I’ll be back soon. Angela was so sweet and kind, and made me feel at home. She spoiled me with a generous breakfast and amazing coffee from her own coffee maker. The room was super clean and welcoming, and the property is in a very convenient spot in the historic center. Thank you.
