Osalla Beach Garden Bungalow

I’m still feeling sick after eating here two days ago. I spent the night vomiting and the next day recovering, which is especially disappointing since I don’t usually have stomach trouble, even after eating at Egyptian, Turkish, and Moroccan restaurants. The staff also made us feel hurried and unwelcome, as though we needed to leave because other guests were waiting. And I was told smoking wasn’t allowed on the terrace only after I’d lit my cigarette. There were no signs, and a local woman nearby was smoking without anyone saying anything. I understand and respect the rule, but are guests expected to follow it selectively? The setting itself is truly beautiful.

We only stopped for lunch, and the seafood right on the beach was lovely. The food was great, and they were so patient while I tried to say “spoon” in Italian. I may have swallowed a fish bone the wrong way, but that was my own fault. Wait, had I already reviewed this place?

A nice spot for an easy lunch or dinner, with good food, friendly service, free Wi-Fi, and credit cards accepted. There’s also a playground for kids. We did run into lots of wasps while eating, though it could just be seasonal.

We ate at the restaurant in August 2017, so this review is about the restaurant only, not the camping. My wife’s spaghetti was okay, but the beef in my mixed grill was an expensive nightmare, chewy and full of fibres, like the sole of my shoe. The staff couldn’t speak a foreign language, not even basic English. Before we left, one of my sons became violently ill. He’d been fine before and was fine afterward, so I can only guess.
