From the garden you can take in the beautiful Flumendosa lakes, and walk among the old sheepfolds that gave the place its name, "Antichi ovili." The hilltop setting around Orroli is great. Dinner was excellent, with a good selection of Sardinian dishes: vegetable appetizers, olives, "pane carasau" bread, ham, salsiccia, and pecorino, followed by two pasta courses and two meat dishes, including stuffed lamb and caramelized roast piglet. Service was good, the wines were very good, and the price was affordable.

The setting is beautiful and the service friendly, with delicious Sardinian food and lovely Nuragic huts. It’s very close to Nuraghe Arrabiu, which is a must-see nearby, and you can also visit Lake Mulargia. Giara di Gesturi, Parco del Gennargentu, and Ogliastra are interesting areas too.

Come hungry, because the food is delicious. Up on the hillside, this gorgeous, distinctive hotel gives you a stay in a traditional cottage that feels like a one of a kind experience.
