B e B San Valentino

The villa is comfortable and beautiful, set among the greenery of the Marche hills. It’s peaceful and well placed for trips around Conero and nearby areas. But we had to clean the house ourselves before settling in for the week, as the cleanliness was really poor. We also had to buy basics like oil, salt, toilet paper, and cleaning products. Being out in the countryside means insects are to be expected, though at least the mosquito screens were installed decently. And the kitchen spices were expired, dating back to 2007 🙃

Mrs. Ludovica gave us a warm welcome and was very friendly. We had a generous, tasty breakfast in a lovely lounge with tasteful furnishings. The villa is surrounded by greenery, with beautiful views over Osimo and the hills. Even the spotted cat came by to greet us in the morning. I picked this B&B for a short break in Marche, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise, calm, comfortable, and welcoming.

The hostess is lovely and kind, and the farmhouse itself is beautiful and very quiet. I stayed four days in a double room; there’s also an upstairs apartment with two bedrooms and a bathroom. The decor suits the setting, and the place feels worth the price, since a few small fixes could make it excellent. The mosquito nets were broken and useless, so the mosquitoes had an easy time. I mentioned it to her, so maybe they’ll be fixed soon. Breakfast could use work too: packaged bread and snacks, a few biscuits and jam, and little else.

Awful stay. The rooms were dirty and felt like dumps, with no air conditioning, so we had to leave the windows open and got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Cats wandered in freely and climbed all over things. There was even a huge spider under the breakfast cup on the table this morning. The manager was rude and far too nosy, and breakfast was poor quality and meagre. It wasn't clear when it would be served because you had to arrange a time with the owner.
