2410 Tenuta dei Fragni by Perle di Puglia

The grounds and villa at Tenuta dei Fragni are beautiful, just like the Airbnb pictures. We were 8 adults and 1 baby, and the separate units with their own entrances gave everyone plenty of privacy. There was lots of room to spread out, and the outdoor seating area worked really well for shared lunches and dinners. The pool was a good size and had loungers, parasols, and tables. The main reason I wouldn’t recommend staying here is our experience with the management company, Barbarhouse. I encourage future guests to read the many 1-star Google reviews about them. Our experience was similar: hostile hosts, intimidating demands for cash on arrival, aggressive messages after checkout, and an unfair suspension of our 1000 euro deposit over negligible wear and tear. There were also issues with the property that might have been easier to overlook if dealing with Barbarhouse hadn’t been so unpleasant. The kitchen had no outdoor-safe drinkware for pool use. Every bathroom flooded because the shower curtains were too short, leaving the bath mats soaked each day and creating a slipping hazard. The curtains were mouldy too. We saw rats near the pool more than once. No high chair or child-friendly kitchenware was supplied, and the baby-walker they did provide was mouldy and not fit for use. The air conditioning units were underpowered for July nights. The pool was dirty when we arrived, only cleaned the day before we left, and there were no pool towels. The villa itself is stunning, but Barbarhouse’s unfriendly, unprofessional, and at times hostile management ruined what should have been a relaxing holiday. Be aware of these serious problems, especially the way the deposit was handled, and read the other Google reviews. Sadly, ours doesn’t seem to be an isolated case.
