Biancadamare

Sara was a huge help with suggestions and booking activities and restaurants, and the team at Biancadamare were very hospitable. We had a great stay and found it an excellent base for exploring Puglia. Being just outside the old town made driving in and out easy. Parking felt easy and secure. Our room was clean and quiet, the air con worked well, and the wifi was reliable. The bed was a little soft, though it and the pillows seemed typical for Europe. There was a washing line for bathers, plus towels we could take to the beach.

The views across the old town are incredible, the kind other tourists pay to see. The rooms are spacious, and Sarah is an amazing host who does everything she can to make the stay memorable. Thankyou.

There was plenty of room for two, and the balcony looked out over amazing city views. With the high ceilings and big window, our clean, well-kept room felt bright, airy, and relaxing. It also had a safe, a small fridge, and a kettle with tea, handy for an early cup on the balcony. Sara was so friendly and accommodating, from restaurant suggestions to bringing breakfast right to our room.

For €125/night, including the room and jacuzzi use, we expected a lot better in Ostuni. There are memorable touches here, like the boat-shaped breakfast setup, the open view of Ostuni, the jacuzzi, the sea-themed room decor, and the hosts’ constant smiles. But those highlights don’t make up for some basic quality problems. In the evening, woodlice were crawling on the ceiling and floor, apparently getting in through the sand used to decorate the room. The price also felt high for what is essentially a residence that’s been dressed up nicely. The breakfast ingredients were low quality, and the restaurant they suggested for dinner was pretty bad by Italian standards. At checkout, they would only take cash because their bancomat was supposedly broken, and we had to correct the receipt amount. There are things that make the place unique, but it needs improvement. A slightly lower price and more modest expectations might have made the quality issues easier to accept. The high reviews don’t make sense to me.
