Hotel Tropical

It's basic and has no particular flair, which suited us because we chose it for the price and location. It's close to amenities, with free parking. The hotel was very clean, though quite dated, like something from the 1980s. Breakfast was very good, and the owner and his daughter were kind. The air conditioning barely cooled the room even at its lowest setting, and the fridge and safe both didn't work properly.

The rules at Hotel Tropical made it hard to feel like a paying guest. We had to hand the room key to the owner whenever we went out, and the gates closed promptly at midnight, so returning late wasn't possible. The limited opening times also felt restrictive. On arrival, staff explained how a 3-star hotel works in a patronizing way, as if I were a child. As someone who travels often for work and leisure around the world, I found the policies antiquated and the treatment condescending. My stay near Ostuni was frustrating, and I think management should reconsider its customer service and update these rules for today's travelers.

We had a great two-night stay at Hotel Tropical. The host was exceptionally kind and went out of his way to make us comfortable. Our room was very clean and we slept really well. Breakfast was good and kept us full for the day. Ostuni is only a two-minute drive away, which works well if you're renting a car.

We had a bright, very clean room and a comfortable bed. The hosts were calm, welcoming, and helpful. Breakfast was served with fruit, yogurt, pastries, and traditional meat and cheese. I only wish there had been better lactose-free milk and a few more options for that dietary need. Thanks for a lovely stay.
