La Casuccia

The owner was very friendly, and the studio is right in the center, in a style typical of the area with its mezzanine. Still, the room felt run-down and poorly maintained. I couldn't sleep well on the mattress, and there was no hot water to wash with.

The house was filthy: the toilet was stained with urine, the kitchen had other people's food stuck to it, the plastic tablecloth was greasy, and the shower couldn't be used. The sink was outside the bathroom. The TV didn't work, and its antenna cable lay under the faucet, a real McGiver. There were drafts everywhere, and although the air conditioning was set to 30 degrees, it kept blowing icy air. We spent the first night wearing our coats. When we contacted the owner, she suggested an electric heater, which we refused, and we reluctantly moved out because we had wanted to relax. We'd booked the "little house" for three nights, but after the first night we left, after struggling to find somewhere else to stay. On arrival we'd paid cash without a receipt, and the "nice" owner "suggested" we cancel the reservation to save us, which we naively did. Then we spent the remaining two days trying to get our money back, with missed appointments and the owner's "family tragedies". Now we're on our comfortable couch, out the money and very angry. Avoid "this nightmare house". Terrible!

There was damp and mold in the bathroom, and I found the house very dirty. I booked through Booking.com and filed a complaint asking them to intervene. I don't recommend it, especially for anyone with children, as I had.

La Casuccia is compact but has everything you might need, and even more. It was comfortable, clean, and not far from the center. I'd highly recommend it.
