The pergola and barbecue are a lovely feature, and the place is surrounded by centuries-old olive trees. It’s a peaceful escape from the daily grind, yet only a short walk from beautiful Ostuni. You can feel the owner’s care in the way she welcomes guests. Recommended for couples looking for a romantic break and for families too. You only live once.

We stayed here with 10 people and had plenty of room. The house is large, set in an extensive olive grove, with a private pool, shaded seating and a barbecue. It looks fantastic, and really is. There are four en-suite rooms and a shared kitchen. The bed was a bit saggy, though, and long showers weren’t possible because each bathroom has only a small water heater.
