Palazzo Stunis- Dimora di Charme

Matteo was a wonderful host, sharing his renovated family home with us. It has all the modern amenities, lovely bed and table linens, and elegant dishes. Breakfast was generous, too. The location is a little away from the main centro, about a 10-15 minute walk through small roads or pretty alleyways. Matteo was helpful with booking restaurants and taxis.

The private parking made arriving by car easy, and the town is very close. We’ve just left Palazzo Stunis, and the whole stay was remarkable. Matteo is warm and friendly enough to feel like family in his home. He has taken great care with both the service and the renovation of his family home, respecting its beautiful original character. There was attention to detail everywhere, from fresh sheets each day to a delicious breakfast. This is where you NEED to stay in Ostuni.

We only wish we had booked a longer stay at Palazzo Stunis for our honeymoon. Matteo welcomed us so warmly, and the property, setting, history, and breakfast made the whole visit unforgettable. His breakfast was beautifully presented, and afterward he sat with us to explain Ostuni and the parts of Puglia we planned to see. His suggestions for day trips, beaches, and restaurants shaped our two weeks there, and every recommendation worked out perfectly. He also booked us wonderful restaurants in Ostuni, among the best meals we had during our four weeks in Italy, and pointed us to lovely bars for drinks before or after dinner and the best viewpoints over the white city. We’re certain we wouldn’t have had the same experiences without Matteo. We’ll definitely be back, and highly recommend his beautiful property to future guests. Bellissimo!

The townhouse was spotless, and its location is wonderful for shops, restaurants, and an authentic historic atmosphere. Our street-level unit had just been plastered and finished, so on a humid day the initial smell concerned me. There was only one window, along with a private entrance for fresh air, but the AC worked great. Mateo, the owner, was charming and helpful, and breakfast was catered with both savory and sweet options. Our luggage had been lost in Frankfurt. On the second day Matteo offered to call a friend to take us back to Bari airport. Johnny drove us, went into lost and found, and asked them to retrieve our bags, which the travel tags confirmed were there. Then he took us to our destination in Ayroldi. Johnny was our hero that day. Don’t miss a wonderful visit. This was the best accommodation and host.
