Janela Blue

From the terrace and old town walls, you can take in lovely views of the Castle, along with all the colours and scents of the area. Even in late December Otranto was busy, though the evenings were noticeably quiet, and it suited us perfectly. Restaurants and bars are all around, and the Cathedral, Castle and seafront are about a minute's walk away. Janela Blue is a lovely little apartment in the middle of Otranto, about 100 metres from the Aragonese Castle. It has two floors, with a well-equipped modern kitchen downstairs and the bedroom, bathroom and terrace upstairs. Everything was very clean and up to date. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Massimiliano was kind and helpful throughout, with good suggestions for restaurants, beaches and places to see. That thoughtful, discreet welcome made us feel comfortable right away. The house has plenty of character and sits in a perfect spot in the historic center. We were only steps from the cathedral and a few minutes from the sea, so we could walk everywhere without needing the car, especially nice in the lively evenings. We were a couple staying in the small Civico 35 by Janela Blue apartment, which suited two people well. The home is lovely and fits Otranto's old town atmosphere, with simple but tasteful furnishings and care given to keeping its authentic character. We first saw it on booking platforms, but contacted the owners directly and did save some money. It was a very positive stay. We'd choose it again and recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the city on foot.

Massimiliano was wonderful, always on hand for anything we needed, even things beyond the house. His kindness made the stay even better. The home was carefully kept and spotless, and you can feel the care put into welcoming guests. It’s right in the center but remarkably quiet, a peaceful place to stay while exploring on foot. The city beaches are also easy to reach without a car. We had a great time and will definitely return.
