Otranto mon amour

The room has what I think is the best view in Otranto, and its interior design is pretty unique. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly. The bathroom may feel small if you're a big person.

The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to eat, looking out over the sea and Otranto. Veronique also cleaned our room every morning and suggested places to visit and eat. We’re grateful for everything she did. After our booking was overbooked two weeks before departure, she saved our vacation by offering us her room at a truly excellent price. We really hope to come back.

The food is high quality and the prices are reasonable. I especially liked the puccia with tuna tartare, and the fried fish was crisp and cooked just right. You can reserve and wait for the pager to ring or vibrate, though the wait is short, so there’s time to enjoy a glass of excellent local wine. The place faces the sea in the center of Otranto. Definitely recommended ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We stayed in the Beddha mia room, whose name means “My beautiful” in Salento dialect. It’s more like a small studio than the other rooms, with a kitchen, oven, washing machine and refrigerator, plus a spacious balcony overlooking the sea. There’s a king-size bed and a hydromassage shower too. The large window frames a view across the sea, from the new part of Otranto to the older town with its Cathedral and Aragonese Castle. At dawn, the sun starts glinting on the water, and the view west is a delight. Otranto Mon Amour is Veronique’s idea. She’s French and fell in love with Salento. Other options include Bellavista and Oxygene, both with sea views day and night; Benessere has a whirlpool tub for two facing the sea; and Etnica has a little balcony looking over the Adriatic. All the rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and complimentary toiletries. The staff were courteous and helpful, ready to meet our needs. The beach is only 15 metres away, and the property has an elevator. The center, with its restaurants, takeaways, taverns and ice cream shops set among history and tradition, is a brisk five-minute walk.
