Tenuta Torre Pinta

I only stayed briefly, but Maria Giovanna seemed passionate about the place and the region, and ready to do anything to make guests happy. She took time to explain whatever I wanted to know about the area in English, Italian, or perhaps French, and share coffee or tea. She was one of the nicest people I met there. The area had no tourists and was very quiet, which I liked. I'd recommend it.

We enjoyed the food, but the service left us disappointed and upset. The hostess quoted one price, then changed her mind and charged more. She kept trying to upsell us after we'd said no. At first she said our party of 7 could pay by card, then refused and drove us to the bank for cash. She asked us to pay in the car, which felt weird. She pocketed some cash and claimed we hadn't paid the full amount, so we had to challenge her to take out the money she said was missing. On top of that, we were subjected to racist language.

Giovanna's charisma shows up in every detail at Torre Pinta. She's the heart of the place, keeps taking great care of her restaurant, and welcomes you like you're in your own home. If you want to feel like a local and part of a family in southern Italy, this is definitely the experience for you!

We were sent here during high season after our hotel room's toilet broke, and there were no other options. This place is dirty and rundown, as if its best days were 40 or more years ago. Everything needs repair or an update. We waited two hours in a hot car while they cleaned our room, then were gruffly told to go wait at the pool like impatient children, even though we're middle-aged adults. The pool was packed with at least 30 kids from the camping ground, with no masks, so we passed. When the room was finally ready, Giovanna the owner condescendingly said, 'look what I have prepared for you, all this to yourselves'. It was an ancient apartment with spider egg sacks on the walls. The washing machine didn't work, though we only found out after it was loaded. We got the feeling they thought we'd be too clueless to see what a poor deal it was. They even asked for 10€ more for a place we hadn't booked. In the end, thanks to our previous hotel stepping in, they gave us the original price. It's really gross, especially considering what you can get for so much less!!!
