Hotelleria Di Ovada

The place was filthy, and we had no heating or blankets, so we slept in our clothes. The beds were old and the mattresses sagged, while the internet barely worked. The hotel is in what I consider a crime-ridden area. Someone stole gas from our car while it was parked next to the hotel.

The staff were welcoming, the one positive thing I can say. The place was very hard to find, even with Waze or Google Maps, and there was no soundproofing at all. Comfort is extremely basic. It feels disreputable and isn’t somewhere I’d recommend for women traveling alone. The price looks attractive, but in the end it feels expensive.

The bed was cracked, with eight of its ten slats broken, so relaxing was out of the question. Dust and cobwebs were everywhere, and one light was half-burned. The bathroom door looked like a sword in a stone; the shower door was like a car door and let dirty water pour down. As for the so-called ping pong court, it was a dusty concrete slab with cheap rackets and a ball that gave you a stomach ache. If it were up to me, this would get zero stars.

The rooms were nothing special, and the bathroom was in poor shape. I’ve stayed in much better places for the same price. The friendly woman at reception was the reason I gave it an extra star; she was genuinely helpful and nice.
