B&B il Giardinetto Pachino

The room had plenty of space for three and came with a balcony. We spent five nights there. The mattresses could have been more comfortable, and having to share the refrigerator was the main drawback. Breakfast was at a bar about 500 metres away, and there’s free parking nearby.

The location was good, but the rest of the stay left a lot to be desired. The website photos and positive reviews gave me the wrong impression. Our private host had made a triple room out of a double, and the towels were old, stiff, and worn. The bathroom was cramped, with a narrow shower and a tiny window. The air conditioning ran, but I couldn’t set the temperature I wanted. At checkout I found out there was no POS terminal, so I had to hurry into town to find an ATM and pay cash. I wouldn’t stay again. There was plenty that needed reconsidering.

Pachino is about ten minutes from some beautiful beaches, and the B&B has a supermarket, pharmacy, and laundry close by. Mr. Giuseppe was welcoming and always available, so it felt like home. The place was very clean, with cleaning every morning. Breakfast is included at a café and pastry shop, where the food is excellent and the staff are really friendly. I recommend it to everyone.

The price is what earns this a fourth star. It was spotless and well located, around eight minutes from Marzamemi. Breakfast wasn’t included, though vouchers were given for a nearby bar, one voucher for every two people. I did find the B&B owner’s 24-hour presence a little intrusive.
