Our room in the tower house was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bed and a stunning view. The building’s original character remains, while the rooms have been modernized, giving the place a special atmosphere. We had a wonderful time amid beautiful scenery, and sharing a bottle of wine by candlelight was unforgettable. The owner’s wines are available to taste and buy at reception, and we brought home some excellent bottles. Patricia was especially kind and helpful, including with a dinner recommendation. She even secured us a table at a lovely local restaurant on Valentine’s Day, where we could try regional food. It was a fantastic stay, and we wholeheartedly recommend it.

The room was a little small, but it was clean and comfortable, and there’s a great local cafe just a minute’s walk away. The staff were amazing, and their wines were delicious. It’s a fun, interesting place to stay. Keep in mind there are several flights of stairs to the rooms and no lift, so you’ll have to carry your bags up.

Breakfast on the patio was a highlight, with attentive staff, and the grounds were well maintained. It was also an easy, pleasant walk into the center of Padova. We appreciated being welcomed with a glass of Massimago’s own Rosè at registration. The restored rooms are part of the historic entrance gate of the Castle of Padova, dating back to the 1300s. Our first-floor suite had lots of character and was tastefully decorated; the second-floor room was more modest but spacious. The beds, especially on the first floor, sloped inward and weren’t very comfortable, and the second-floor suite had such a strong scent that sleeping was somewhat difficult. Those seem like easy fixes. From the first phone call, Sophia’s warm message made the hospitality feel personal. Patricia welcomed us like an old friend, and Lonelia’s attentive breakfast service added to the family-like atmosphere. The stay was memorable, and we’d like to return and discover Massimago’s other properties. One note for anyone with mobility difficulties: both rooms involve quite a few stairs, so this accommodation isn’t ideal.

Our memorable departure from Padua was made even better by staying at the Massimago Wine Tower. It’s a historic building in a gardened residential area, close to the sights that draw visitors. Patricia welcomed us enthusiastically in the Tower’s cellar, where we could enjoy Massimago’s wines. She was gracious, helpful, and insightful in answering our questions as novice visitors. Throughout our stay, someone knowledgeable was available and clearly loved the city as much as we came to. If you go to Padua, the Wine Tower is a must. Sorry this review took so long. We’re still getting over how wonderful our Italian trip was. John and Pamela from Florida

We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms were beautifully renovated in a gorgeous historic building, fully equipped, and had a lovely outdoor area. The quiet, private, convenient location made it easy to walk everywhere, and Padua itself is gorgeous. It also made our early flight from Venice Marco Polo easy to manage. Patricia looked after us so well, with restaurant suggestions and guidance whenever we needed them. Everything exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
