Agriturismo La Ca’ Solare

Silvia and Henrik gave us such a warm welcome, and the view over the Tuscan countryside is fantastic. There are so many places you might want to visit within easy travelling distance, including Pisa, Firenze, Volterra and San Gimignano. What more could you ask for?

We had such a wonderful stay at la ca solare with six adults and two small children, all in the extended fragola apartment. It gave us a lovely mix of country life and comfort, and Henrik, Silvia and their children were so helpful and welcoming. The farm felt like staying at a friend's home, and we could make our own meals at our private outdoor table on many evenings. The pool area is beautiful, and the kids had a trampoline too. The children adored all the animals: bunnies, kittens, a dog, donkey, sheep, chickens, turtles, and more. Henrik cooked an amazing Italian meal for us on two of the nights, mostly using produce from their farm. We also enjoyed chatting with other guests, though that's optional if you'd rather eat on your own. Pisa, San Gimignano, Volterra and Firenze are nearby. The only downside was that our apartment had no AC. It was an old stone house built to resist heat, so it wasn't a big problem. Even with 30 degrees Celsius every day in September, it stayed cooler and comfortable inside.

The hosts made my two children feel included in everyday farm activities, from picking cherries to feeding the hen and rabbits, and we felt so welcome at Agriturismo Ca'solare. I especially loved the garden, after all our hours by the big, clean pool. We picked flowers for our apartment, and in the evenings enjoyed delicious Italian food made with their homegrown vegetables. Olive trees around the pool add a lovely Italian feel to the already fantastic Tuscan landscape view. Our apartment was neat and clean. We had the loveliest stay imaginable, and we'll see you next year!

Silvia and Henrik were so friendly and helpful, and their traditional dinners were lovely. I especially loved the homemade ravioli. The farm had the Tuscan look I imagined, with an incredible view, a vegetable garden supplying much of their food, and animals including chickens, rabbits, sheep, a sweet donkey and ducks. There are pretty villages around Montefoscoli, which you need a car to visit, and Volterra and Pisa are also an easy drive away. I had a stunning stay at La Ca' Solare and hope to come back someday.
