Antica Dimora Leones

We were all delighted with this lovely converted house and hotel. My extended family and I stayed three weeks ago while we were in the area for a family wedding. There were, I think, ten rooms in total, with several different types, and each one was unique and well appointed. Zamira was a warm, lovely, and helpful hostess. I really couldn’t fault the place.

The attic room is magnificent, with wooden beams and beautifully chosen furniture that suits its period and feel. All through the house hotel, you’ll find grand little corners linked by narrow, steep staircases worn smooth by time. Set on the hilltop of Palaia, this is a lovely place for a romantic break, full of family tradition, heritage, culture, and style.

The night noise kept us awake from 2:30 to 5:00 AM. It was Saturday, and loud, drunken conversations outside went on for hours. The parking area was poorly lit, and we left with scratches on our car. The online photos looked much better than the place itself. Our bed was far too soft and felt worn out from many previous guests, the floor was dirty, and there was no fresh air even with the windows open. Opening them brought a swarm of hornets inside, so there may be a nest nearby. The bathroom was tiny, and the shower felt like it was made for supermodels with a 90-60-90 figure. This was easily the most disappointing accommodation experience I’ve had.

A hidden gem that feels like stepping into a time machine and going back 300 years. The rooms and decor are unbelievable, and the people working there make you feel like you’re living a dream. A must visit.
