The way we were treated at check-in left us with a bitter memory, even though we’ve spent several summers in Sardegna and know the friendly service the island is known for. We’d booked five nights at Baia del Faro, Oct. 2-7, 2024, and arranged to meet Anina at 3:00pm. We arrived on time, as she did, after a long half day of travel. My wife asked if she could use the WC in the main reception area, but Anina said it wasn’t for guests and she’d have to wait until we were checked into our unit. Then another family arrived and Anina checked them in first, so we waited at least 25 more minutes. When she eventually came back, she was extremely rude. It seemed to be because we’d stopped by earlier that day to check we had the right place, since we were new in Palau, and had briefly introduced ourselves to her colleague/manager. We were practically speechless at her attitude. The apartment itself was uncomfortable, and the family above us kept making noise moving furniture. After that reception, though, those problems almost felt secondary. We couldn’t manage all five nights and left after the third, with no refund or apology from management. We also had to pay for two more nights somewhere else, Euro 360.-. We’ll never come back.
