6/10
The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, and Abatellis staff were friendly and helpful apart from the extra charges. The location was handy too, with historic sites and nightlife within an easy walk. The problem was my Priceline booking for five people. I entered the children’s ages, but the reservation came through as two adults. Since it was a suite that sleeps five, I didn’t think much of it until we arrived and I was charged an extra 35 euros per child, per night. That took the advertised 167 euros a night up to 272. Abatellis said it was a Priceline issue, while Priceline said they could only record my feedback. I’d planned to add another night in Palermo, but changed my mind after seeing the extra cost. Without that 63% increase, this would have been a five-star review. Check the booking carefully.

The rooms were nicely spacious and the location was great. I had to move the furniture around to use the kettle, and mentioned that to the staff. There was no coffee in the room, just flavoured tea. I’d recommend it.

The rooms are on the second floor, and there’s no elevator. Roberta made some nice cakes for breakfast, and Gourgio was lovely and gave us very good service. A good place to sleep, with good service.

For the price, it’s hard to fault. The room was comfortable, though it’s up a couple of flights of stairs, and the service was excellent. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it wasn’t a nightmare. The location was good too.

The homemade breakfast was amazing, and the staff were so friendly. The location’s perfect, and the rooms were clean and great. I’ll definitely come back.
