The location couldn't be better. I walked over from the ferry, and there's an easy bus ride to Centrale station. Shops and restaurants are all around, and the hop-on, hop-off bus leaves from right across the street. My room was clean and practical, with a lovely balcony. The owners live on site and helped at check-in, as well as with local advice. I needed recommendations for a pharmacy and laundry. The bathroom was separate from the room, which didn't bother me; it was right next door, and I usually left it unlocked since I wasn't worried about anyone taking my toothbrush. Road noise was the main downside. Motos, police cars, and ambulances use the street often. It quieted down by 11pm, and earplugs meant I didn't notice it. Better windows might help, though it seems like a fact of life for people in Palermo. A fascinating place with a great atmosphere and lovely Sicilian-style decor. The staff are helpful and great. Don't miss it if it's available.

We had a pleasant stay overall, and the location was a real plus. There are good restaurants and bakeries nearby, plus a supermarket and handy bus stops, including the airport shuttle. Many sights are within a 30-minute walk. The host was friendly, gave us a map and suggestions, and was easy to reach by phone and WhatsApp. Our room was clean and nice, with AC and a mini fridge. The bathroom was outside the room, as we knew when booking, but reaching it meant walking past the lobby and the other rooms. We also had to carry a rather bulky key to unlock it each time. The showerhead was old and only about seven holes gave out water, and the shower corners looked moldy. A few small things could be improved: the toilet paper was one-ply, there was a shampoo bottle on the sink instead of hand wash, and the shower cubicle had nowhere to put shampoo or other things.

The room was bigger than I expected, and the location was great. My separate bathroom was clean, so that arrangement didn't bother me. Salvo, the host, helped me figure out where to park the hire car.

The rooms were a good size and clean, and the people were nice. It wasn't very convenient, though, since the proprietors were often away from the property.
