I’d give this hotel 1 or 2 stars at most. It definitely isn’t a four-star place, and I wonder if the rating in the system is rigged. I booked despite seeing bad reviews because there were good ones too. A few things to know: the hotel photos are misleading and don’t show what it’s like now. For example, there’s no rooftop jacuzzi. We had no fresh water much of the time, as the photo shows, and there isn’t a good bus nearby, so getting places involved a lot of walking. The streets outside smelled of the garbage left there. At night we could hear people talking in another hotel room through the toilet, and there was nothing we could do about it. Smells of poop and cigarettes also came into our room from another room. There’s absolutely no Wi-Fi in the rooms, only in the lobby. After a week of going back and forth with them, I ended up getting my own Wi-Fi. They kept saying they would fix it, but never did. The shower was poor too: water got all over the bathroom, including the walls, floor, and toilet paper, so we had to move the paper before showering.

The food was delicious and the portions were generous, and the staff were kind and helpful. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and nicely designed. Beds were really comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and clean, with good-quality products provided.

The view from our window over the city and mountains was stunning, and the rooftop terrace gave us a great spot for panoramic photos. Breakfast was delicious, with scrambled eggs, ham, sausages, cheese, Sicilian pastries and cakes, and espresso. Staff were friendly and the service was sufficient. The atmosphere stayed quiet and low-key. We had a spacious, clean room with a view, and the air conditioning worked without any trouble. No mosquitoes either. There was no kettle or iron in the room, which doesn’t feel like a four-star standard, and the bathroom looked tired and could use an upgrade or better upkeep, though everything worked. It isn’t central, but the route was straightforward: about 30 minutes on foot along the main road by the port, or bus 107 to and from the central station. The area around the hotel was dirty, with smelly bins full of rubbish. Still, the view of Mount Pellegrino and the monastery at the top was amazing. For what we paid, everything was good.

The staff were rude and impolite, and basic bathroom supplies like toilet paper and tissues weren’t provided each day. The door lock didn’t work properly and I got hurt. Don’t book this hotel.

The rooftop view was great, but don’t be taken in by the jacuzzi photos. It’s been gone for a long time, and those pictures feel misleading. We were there for five nights, though we hadn’t chosen the place ourselves. The staff were the one bright spot, much kinder than people usually are in Palermo. The rest was a mess: an unpleasant neighborhood, garbage right outside the gate, dated rooms, and the worst coffee I’ve ever had. Breakfast was included but awful unless cake and cookies are your thing first thing in the morning. If money’s really tight, it may do; otherwise I’d stay somewhere else.
