B&B Essenze

We had a lovely weekend in the heart of Palermo. BB Essenze is a cozy, super clean place, just a short walk from the main attractions. The staff were so welcoming and kind. For our family, the little kitchen stocked with free coffee, tea, milk, and pastries was just right. A real hidden gem, we'd happily come back!

The staff were very nice and easy to contact, and the price was great. The apartment was beautiful and fragrant, with a private bathroom that was cleaned every day. In the shared kitchen, there was even a whole drawer full of croissants! It takes 10-15 minutes to walk to the center and 30 minutes to the train station. 100/10 ❤️

The room was clean and quiet from outside noise, and otherwise comfortable. The location and price were good, but with no inside lock beyond the key lock, things were inconvenient. It works for a night or maybe two, though I wouldn't choose it for a longer stay. The morning staff were helpful and spoke some English.

Avoid this place. The owner was aggressive and racist, and my stay was the worst experience I've had after visiting many places in Sicily. After I left an honest, respectful review, the owner sent me lots of aggressive messages. At checkout, the female owner asked for my ID, which I provided willingly. She checked it in a strange, excessively long way that felt unwelcoming, and I mentioned that in my review. She then wrote lies claiming I'd tried to avoid showing my ID, although I hadn't been asked to show it before checkout. They also falsely said I was from the Middle East despite my EU passport, then made a racist, discriminatory comment to justify the unusually long identity check. I'm Dutch, not from the Middle East. This behavior is appalling. The owner is a racist and a liar who reacts to negative reviews with outrage and aggression. Check the other negative comments from previous guests.
