The main downside was sorting out transport nearby. Buses in Italy are never on time, so allow twice as long when you need to travel somewhere by bus, or take a taxi. Otherwise, I had a great stay. The B&B is near the harbour, in a quiet, not very touristy neighbourhood, and about a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre. It’s on the 5th floor and has only a few guest rooms, plus a big living room with a lovely harbour view. My room was cozy rather than large, but had everything I needed: air conditioning, a TV, a mini fridge, and a kettle. The private bathroom was separate from the room. Both were VERY clean. The host was friendly and quick to arrange check-in. I thought the price was great for what you get.

The room and bathroom have both been renovated, and I would have rated the stay 5 stars. But having to leave the room to get to the bathroom made the experience uncomfortable and less pleasant.

For the price, everything else was excellent. The B&B is in the city centre, well placed for major sights and transport, and breakfast is included for €7. My only reservation is that the private bathroom is outside the room. You have to go into the hallway and open and close doors to use it.

The rooms were modern and spotless, the staff friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. Breakfast featured Sicilian products. The location facing the harbour is very convenient for walking to the main streets or catching a bus to other areas.
