Breakfast at the affiliated café was poor. The bathroom was actually out in the hallway, despite the description saying it was in the room. The room also needed renovation, with chipped plaster in several places and electrical wiring left exposed.

The hostess was warm and helpful, and the location works well for seeing Palermo. I gave the rooms four stars because the bathroom wasn't up to standard.

We spent two nights here as a couple. The building was very old and in terrible shape. Staff couldn't sort out long-term parking for us and suggested an illegal lot. Fortunately, there was an Apcoa parking lot nearby where we could leave the car all day for €9. We couldn't pay by card because the lady didn't know how to use the card reader. Breakfast was adequate, and the location in the city was good.

It feels like staying with family, thanks to the kind, helpful owners, and the breakfast is generous and varied. The B&B has the feel of a historic residence, yet there's just about everything nearby: a historic café, McDonald's, theaters and a multiplex, traditional trattorias, Chinese and gourmet restaurants, vegan options, a bakery-restaurant-pastry shop, and even a takeaway pizzeria with all gluten-free options. Via Maqueda, the lively heart of the city, is an easy walk away. It's an excellent base for experiencing Palermo, and I'd gladly return.
