We were staying at Porto Antico La Cala over Easter as a couple with our three-year-old. There were already a few things that bothered us at check-in: the bed's headboard looked dirty, possibly with old sweat on it; the hairdryer made odd metallic noises; and many of the coffee pods didn't fit the machine. Things became much worse on the Monday after Easter, our third morning. At 7 a.m. there was no hot water, so we couldn't wash our child properly, and they cried when we tried to use the shower. Then we discovered the Wi-Fi was out too, and there was no light in the stairway. It seemed like an electrical fault, perhaps a breaker that needed resetting. We called the owner for advice, but the conversation was very unpleasant. She played down the situation, saying that no hot water wasn't a big deal, it was a holiday so troubleshooting would take longer, nobody else had complained, and we'd have to wait for her to return to Palermo to check it. We packed up and left the apartment straight away, one day before our paid stay ended. We showered and stayed with a friend in Palermo, then asked for a refund for the final night. The owner later told us the problem was fixed at 12:30, at least four hours after we'd contacted her. We're still waiting for that one-night refund.

The port view was wonderful, and the place felt welcoming, modern, and very clean. The owner was friendly and generous. It was a lovely place to stay during the holidays. I highly recommend it!

We were lucky to spend a week in this beautiful historic apartment right by the tourist port in Palermo. From the balcony, the view and panorama are magnificent, and the bedrooms are stylishly furnished and very comfortable. The historic center is so close that we could visit all the lovely sights of this magical city without a car. I highly recommend it, and we'll definitely come back!

I was really pleased with Rosanna's service, and the room had everything shown in the pictures. There’s a wardrobe, smart TV, very comfortable double bed, desk for working, private bathroom with towels, shampoo, hair cream, and a hairdryer, plus a handy mini fridge. Room cleaning is included, and the prices are written on a sheet in the room. There’s no laundry service, but Palermo has several laundries. I found them on Google and used 'LAVANDERIA STAR WASH SELF SERVICE UNIVERSITA' because it had the best ratings. Famili is a six-minute walk away and Lidl is thirteen minutes away. Being beside an avenue does make it noisy, but I slept really well on the second night with the earplugs she provides. If I come back to Palermo, I’ll stay here again.
