The location is excellent, very close to the center, and the room was clean, spacious and in good condition. It had a comfortable veranda, a fridge and a kettle. The sewage system was the main issue: it was very noisy and there was a faint sewage smell, perhaps from poor maintenance. We also didn’t feel secure with such a simple room lock, since other tenants might be able to get in.

I was only a few hours late returning the keys, but instead of charging me for another night or asking for an extra fee, they left my bags, clothes and groceries piled in the B&B common area. I felt treated like a stray animal, and I’ve never felt so hurt or disrespected. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend it, given the complete lack of basic courtesy and respect for a customer.

We woke at 6:15 in the morning to a smoke-filled room after a fire broke out on the third floor of the apartment building. We couldn’t see anything. Everything was black, and I felt my way to the exit and called the fire department. They confirmed our room was uninhabitable. The fire was put out, but there was soot everywhere and a terrible smell. Our throats kept burning all day, and both our clothes and we ourselves were black. The alarm sounded only after we’d thankfully left. There were no security lights, and no fire extinguisher either. We should have reported it. The owner and his mother, who lived there and saw us, didn’t ask if we wanted water, needed the bathroom, or even wanted to wash our faces. They acted as if nothing had happened. We changed on the landing and left, then asked the next property for an early check-in so we could shower. We explained what had happened, and they were very kind and gave us a room straight away. The owner arrived after the fire and seemed to think it probably wasn’t that serious. We didn’t even get a refund. The only response was a disappointed word from the owner’s father. This is a hospitality business and should have all the required safety measures.

Tania was especially kind, and the host was always friendly and courteous. The staff did an excellent job cleaning the rooms, and the location is central and convenient. Kudos to Tania!
