The coast is beautiful and the gulf very picturesque. It was a shame that the water near the entrance was deep green. I was told this was because of the tides and seaweed, but after swimming a couple of lengths, I found clear water. Paid parking along the seafront costs €1 per hour. I bought a ticket at the tobacconist right next door.

The sea and mountains are wonderful here. Mondello really is our Portofino, a marvelous place. It could be a little more refined, but it’s beautiful as it is.

The sea view in MONDELLO, near Palermo, is lovely. It’s a quiet town that suits both relaxing by the sea and having a good time, with places around town where you can eat very well.
