Hotel Columbia

A clean, calm room with the essentials and good equipment, and they provide towels and shower gel too. Breakfast was very generous. The location is right in the city center and not far from the train station. I had a lovely stay for a very convenient price.

The reception service was a bright spot, with friendly staff. The location is good, but the rooms are small and simple, and the hotel feels low class. It also has no lift. Hot water only came through after running the shower for five minutes, and breakfast was poor: no bread, just thin sliced toast, served in a room in the entrance lobby. Construction next door meant noise early in the morning and sometimes during the day.

The only good part was the breakfast staff, who were very nice. The air conditioning had a serious noise problem that made it impossible to sleep. The so-called manager decided, with what he apparently considered great intelligence, that I, the client, was “creating the problem.” In one word: nightmare. I’d give less than one star if I could. In reply to the hotel: people will understand from your response, so keep going like this. As a CLIENT, I don’t beg, I make requests.

For a 2 star hotel, this was a decent stay. We were there for a week with a group of musicians and family. Breakfast was good, with the typical Italian sweet options plus cheese and a little charcuterie. The reception team and the rest of the staff were very friendly. Our room was cleaned daily, and we got fresh towels every two days. The shower was very narrow. On Friday and Saturday there was a lot of noise from outside, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
