I’m writing this because my stay turned into a stressful, upsetting experience, and I want future guests to know what happened. When I got there, I rang the downstairs bell, messaged the owner, and waited outside for a long time with my companion and our luggage. I didn’t get proper help or professional communication, and the way it was handled left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. We also felt extremely unsafe in the area. We were worried about being robbed or approached aggressively, so we decided we couldn’t stay and left. I politely asked for a free cancellation, explaining our concerns and the situation, but the request was refused repeatedly. While the reservation was still active, it was later cancelled with a fee, without my permission or confirmation. I was outside and planning to return, so this left me in a difficult position financially and logistically. I believe the situation was handled unfairly and unprofessionally. I wasn’t made to feel safe, respected, or properly informed. I’d urge future guests to think carefully before booking if safety, communication, and professional service matter to you. I hope the platform investigates this seriously, because experiences like this damage trust in accommodation.
