There were live performances in the square, which was busy with tourists when I visited in the afternoon on 5 February 2026. It's in the historic heart of Palermo. The street seemed to be pedestrianised, but cars and motorbikes sometimes crossed the square, so you had to watch out while taking photos or enjoying the music.

The four matching facades meeting at the intersection are fascinating, and the Baroque details are lovely. It's one of Palermo's best-known places and sits at the center of the historic district. A nice spot to stop for a bit and take in the city.

The statues are said to sing to one another, and there's a beautiful church on one of the four corners. It's a special place to see in Palermo, about a 20-minute walk from the central station.

The statues on the buildings and the architecture are wonderful, and there's often a musician playing in the middle. It's a lovely place to enjoy the sights and sounds, with shops and more restaurants in every direction. I'd happily come back to Palermo. One thing to watch is the drink prices. Vendors sell spritzes such as limoncello and Aperol, but some charge tourists more. I paid 10 euros for a limoncello spritz, while other vendors charged 5 or 3. The more polished-looking stalls may cost more, so smaller cafes can help you avoid overpaying.
