La Casa dei Limoni

We stayed here briefly and the central spot, right on Piazza Giulio Cesare by the station, made getting around very easy. The rooms are fairly priced and roomy, though basic, with air conditioning, a TV, a private bathroom, and a little terrace. There’s also a shared area with pod coffee and hot water for herbal tea or barley coffee. The staff aren’t there in person, but they’re courteous and easy to reach by phone. Recommended.

It has the basics for a place to come back to after spending the day out. I really liked how helpful the staff were, and breakfast each morning was fantastic. The stairs are the downside: it’s on the top floor and there’s no elevator.

I’d booked this B&B a month ahead for a night with friends, but check-in turned into a mess. They left me and my baby waiting outside for more than 20 minutes, then a young man I hadn’t spoken with on the phone arrived and took us to a different B&B. Nobody apologized or explained the change. That caused a lot of trouble, especially with a small child, and because I’d chosen the accommodation carefully to suit my travel companions. Changing the lodging without telling me, and handling the situation this way, was unprofessional and unacceptable.

The place was spotless, neat, and very welcoming, and the staff were friendly and quick to help. Restaurants and other places to eat are easy to get to from here.
