The house in Sicily is beautiful and the stay felt really unique. Ms. Paola has great taste, both in the rooms and the shared spaces. It's very handy for the historic center. If you're driving, you'll probably need to use one of the area's parking lots.

The value for money was excellent, and we were welcomed so warmly. There was plenty of space, all decorated with care and passion. Getting to Dimora del Genio does mean climbing a few steps, but it was a wonderful experience.

Paola's house is full of color and character, with lots of paintings and frescoes. We spent one night at Dimora Del Genio in October 2021, but it wasn't a great stay. There was no running water when we arrived, so we couldn't shower, wash our hands, or even flush the toilet. Water only came back an hour before we left the next day. Breakfast was sparse, just bread, a custard, and two kinds of jam, and we waited at least 20 minutes for the milk. They took €10 off the price for the water problem, so we paid €90 instead of €100. Maybe the B&B struggled during Covid, since it had been better a couple of years earlier.

The rooms are spacious and nice, with plenty of good amenities, and they're fairly clean, though not spotless. The place itself feels short on culture, elegance, and class, and the food is poor quality.
