La Terrazza su Palermo

We arrived in Palermo around 11am and hoped to leave our suitcases at reception before exploring until the agreed 2pm check-in. There was nobody at the hotel. After I called twice, a staff member got back to me later, gave us the keybox PIN for the reception room, and said she expected us from 2pm. While we were out, she messaged on WhatsApp that there was a problem with our room and check-in would be delayed until 4pm. We returned after 4, but reception was still empty. I messaged to say we were outside ready to check in, and she replied that the room wouldn't be ready until 7pm. The owner eventually said on the phone that we could find another hotel and get a refund. I'm still waiting for the money.

The room looked much nicer in the photos than it did in person, and in the hot weather the shower only ran hot. The host was also impossible to reach during our stay, since both the phone number and email address were wrong. At check-in she said she'd send us the breakfast location later, but never did, so we had to pay for breakfast elsewhere. We chose this place partly for the rooftop breakfast and view, which we had paid for but never got. I wouldn’t recommend it because of the broken promises and the breakfast issue.

I don't usually write reviews, but I’d feel silly if I didn’t write one for a place that really deserves a review.

Dirty sheets on the first day, then no hot water the next. I won't be coming back.
