The location is a real plus for exploring Palermo, steps from a main pedestrian street and the airport bus stop. You can leave your luggage on checkout day. Breakfast is standard and served outside. The room, though, needs work. The shower had lots of limescale and hair, the mattress was extremely soft and sagged in the middle, and the pillows were far too high. We asked if they could be replaced, but nothing happened. The air conditioning worked, but it was incredibly noisy and flickered, making the night very uncomfortable.

Our room at Stanze del Grillo was very clean, and the location is excellent, but there were some serious hiccups. I rented a suite for my girlfriend's birthday, and when we arrived, our room had been given to other guests by mistake. We couldn't check in until 7:30 PM. All we got in return was a verbal apology, no refund, and she even asked us for the €3 tourist tax.

The location made it easy to explore Palermo. Our room was clean, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast at the bistro just 50 meters away was excellent.

We were welcomed by a very kind and helpful woman. The place itself feels quite welcoming, and its central position is handy for visiting Palermo's sights.

The room was clean and the location was good, but there were some real hassles. We found the bedding unsuitable for us, and there was no staff at reception. The person who greeted us didn't speak any English, so communication was very difficult. Breakfast was at a separate bar. The staff there were unfriendly, didn't explain what was included, and asked us to pay the difference at the end.
