The staff were friendly, but poorly trained. We asked when we arrived whether we could drive our rental car on the street to the hotel, which is a ZTL street, and they assured us it was fine. Later, we got a 110 euro ticket. Don't rely on what the staff tells you. Only drive to the hotel and the recommended parking lot if you have permission. The hotel itself was well maintained. Our room had a balcony, though the air conditioning left hardly any room to stand on it.

Silvia, the owner, was incredibly sweet, and the service from her and the rest of the consistently friendly, helpful staff was superb. She helped arrange our travel plans and sorted out issues I had, including the logistics around fines and tickets. The hotel was welcoming and went out of its way to accommodate us. The rooms and decor were beautiful, and the whole stay was incredible. I'd recommend Locanda Del Gagini. Grazie mille Silvia per tutto.

A small B&B that's clean and practical, in a great spot for walking to nearly all the attractions. Silvia and Laura were friendly from my first message to Silvia right through to our departure. Contact them directly for the best price. Congratulations to them both.

We had a very bad experience with the transfers. The hotel confirmed by email that someone would pick us up at Palermo airport, after we sent our flight number and other details. We waited 30 minutes in arrivals, but the driver never showed. When we called, the hotel said their driver had picked up another passenger with our surname, arriving from Liverpool, while we were still waiting. I didn't know I had a double flying from the same destination, with the same surname, to the same hotel. We ended up taking a public bus and trying to find the hotel in the dark at 9 pm in October. It was difficult and stressful. The day before our return flight to Liverpool, our host again confirmed and reassured us that a transfer to Palermo airport was arranged for 7 am. At 7:15 on the morning of the flight, there was still no taxi and nobody at La Locanda answered our calls. Panicking, we had to arrange our own transport at the last minute. A taxi takes 40 minutes to the airport and the train takes 60, and we nearly missed our flight because of the hosts. The rooms were noisy and didn't look as spacious as the photos. At night we could hear neighbors talking and showering, and the shower water was cold. The night before our early return flight, water ran through the pipes all night because there was a major flood happening, keeping us awake. It's central, but you can find much better accommodation in Palermo. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
