Piazza Florio Rooms

They canceled my reservation and then refused to return the money I'd paid. This hotel is a total scam. Don't go, they're liars and thieves.

Our son was hospitalized on the day we were due to arrive, so we couldn't make it to the B&B. The other couple traveling with us still went, but when they paid, they were charged half the cost of our unused room. There was no chance to explain or work out a humane solution. We'd booked two rooms over the phone, and the manager accepted without a deposit, relying on mutual trust. I can't judge the property because we never got there, but I can judge the manager's sensitivity. The 120 euros won't change my life or yours. Have a good life.

The location was the one good thing. Our room was dirty, with toilets caked in grime and limescale that looked built up over years. The manager was very unkind. When we arrived, he acted as if he wasn't the manager and dismissed us, and later he wasn't helpful with our requests. The room water was lukewarm, nearly cold, and the showerhead button was broken.

The worst B&B I've ever seen. Cleaning staff were incredibly noisy from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and some rooms have views like a World War II bunker. The place doesn't meet basic safety standards and puts guests at serious risk. There was no evacuation plan, and absurdly, the door can't be opened from inside if another guest has accidentally locked it from outside. You could be trapped inside. Reception was superficial, and the owner didn't seem to know the rules for a B&B operating under current regulations. Absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED.
