At the end of our vacation in Palermo, the two talented young pianists gave us a lovely experience. After a packed day of sightseeing and taking in the city’s contrasts, their performance carried us into the heights of classical music. They did a brilliant job. Wishing both boys all the best!

This museum is a great place to visit when the summer heat makes walking around Palermo unpleasant. I went on a hot day and happened to be the only visitor, so it felt like a private VIP tour, a unique experience for me. Right in the city center, it has an interesting collection, and I was struck by how the old ceiling frescoes and architecture sit alongside contemporary art.

My favorite stop in Palermo. There’s so much contemporary and modern art here, and the ceiling frescoes are beautiful. I spent a full hour and a half looking around, and it was amazing value for money.

It’s nice to see a coffee shop in the museum now, but the prices are aimed at tourists. An espresso doppio and a small water came to €5.80 instead of the usual €3.40, so I’d go to one of the nearby coffee bars instead. At least the caffè there is served hot 😉.
