Mandranova Farm

We stayed in a guest house that's centuries old, on an active olive and almond orchard, and had an excellent experience. I highly recommend it. You can hear some noise from the main highway at the property. Closing the windows and shutters should be enough, and very light sleepers can wear earplugs.

The farmhouse grounds were beautiful and peaceful, and Silva and her family were gracious hosts. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, and the bread was the best I've ever had: crisp on the outside, soft and full of flavor inside. I'd return just for that, though there's plenty more to enjoy. With the Valley of the Temples only 15 minutes away, Mandranova was an ideal one-night stop on our trip from Ortigia to Palarmo.

The cooking class and olive tour were highlights of our trip, and we're looking forward to having olive oil shipped to us. Be on time for the class so you can take part; if you're disrespectfully late, you'll definitely get shade. The food, property, and accommodations were all at a very high level. We loved the comfortable, carefully designed rooms, the dark modern bathroom, period artwork in the rooms, and contemporary art around the property. The visit was memorable, and we'd highly recommend it.

It was such a relaxing three nights, and we can't wait to return. The place is small and perfect, with a gorgeous pool that was wonderful in the June 2025 heat. The family dog Anita kept an eye on things and was lovely. It's a working olive farm, and the olive oil tour was so interesting. The family who own and run it are lovely, the staff are fantastic, and the food and wine were beautiful. At dinner, an amazing three-course meal arrives for you, so you don't have to decide what to order. Everyone eats at their own little tables, outside in summer, which was divine. People were friendly and looked after us while respecting our time. Giovanni welcomed my friend and me and got us quickly and easily into a pretty room. Finding the place by car was a little tricky, probably because I'm overly hopeful about my navigation. Thank you for having us, it was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful, interesting place.
