Sikelia Luxury Retreat

The evening was amazing. The staff were attentive, and the maître d’ was very kind and guided us well with the wine. We ate inside because it was windy, though it seemed less atmospheric than dining outside. The restaurant was top-notch, with the best food we had on the island. Local ingredients were brought together in elaborate dishes with great taste and beautiful presentation. Portions are small, so I’d suggest at least an antipasti and a primi plus secondi. It’s quite expensive. The hotel seems to be a slightly modernized version of a dammuso, with bigger windows. Some rooms may have a nice view, but the site sits back on a hillside, so it doesn’t have the jaw-dropping views you can get elsewhere on the island. I’ll try staying there next time.

I went to Sikelia with my mom, sister, and boyfriend, and we had a wonderful vacation. It’s a very quiet, calm property with a peaceful, relaxing feel. Giulia, the owner, was attentive and really interested in getting to know her guests on a personal level. The food was amazing, and we had a beautiful dinner one night at Coste Ghirlanda. The location is great, close to Scauri port, where we spent a day on a boat. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back.

It’s a lovely boutique hotel, and the owner Julia and staff were exceptionally friendly. They took great care of us after we arrived in difficult circumstances. Don’t miss dinner at the hotel’s winery, Coste Ghirlanda.

The house wine comes from the family’s own winery, and the food and wine were great. Service was great too, with Giulia very present and making sure everything was right. This five-star resort sits on a hillside in the Scauri area. It’s arranged around a large villa, terrace, and pool, with each suite in a different dammuso-style building. There’s even a fully refurbished fisherman’s boat for day cruises. Everything was in place for a lovely stay.
