Martina and Michele treated us like family, helped whenever we needed it, and even made Calabrian food for us. The Residence itself feels like pure gold: one of the most beautiful houses I've seen, with lovely front and back yards. The beach is very nice, with a great view of Stromboli, and Michellino Spiaggia is just a 5-minute drive away. We only spent three nights there, but I'll remember them for a long time. I can't imagine a better place for a holiday. My only small note is that the wifi and reception could have been a bit better.

The food was really good, the rooms were clean, the beach was perfect, and Martina was the greatest host. I can only imagine someone disliking this place if they arrived with really messed up expectations or were a bitter person. For the rest of us, it's amazing. I'd definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone.

The bali-like terraces and chill-out spots all over the property are what really stand out, especially for watching a marvelous sunset. The hotel may not have the newest furniture, but by southern Italy standards it's clean, and the bathrooms work nicely. The food is ridiculously good, especially the Frutti Di mare antipasti, and there's a private beach with crystal clear water. This is definitely a hidden gem, and I could have stayed forever. For the directions: the hotel is inside the gated Porto Pirgos compound, whose main entrance is on the SS522. You need the gate Guardian to be there to get in. There's a long lunch break, so aim to arrive between 09:00-11:00 or 15:00-19:00. Otherwise, you can try the passenger gate if it's open and use the photocell from inside to open the car gate; no one seems to mind. Then drive left and take the last right turn before the beach.

The private beach is splendid, only a few steps away, with a wonderful sea. We also loved the varied, plentiful breakfast, with fresh and tasty food in a European style, and the cuisine deserves special praise too. The rooms were spotless and cleaned carefully every day. All the ladies on staff were smiling, kind, and helpful, and we felt welcomed and looked after with real warmth. Villa Spagnola is a dream of a place, with such a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. This enchanting holiday has stayed in our hearts, and we'd love to return again and again.
