There are a few conveniences here: an elevator, a lobby machine selling water for 1 euro with exact change, a park across the street, and trendy restaurants nearby. But we had a terrible stay. After arriving late, we learned parking and check-in were at the Novotel, and the apartment is on the edge of the city center where you can't drive or park without a permit. It was too late to use the shuttle, so hauling our bags several blocks was difficult. The dated building itself might have been fine; our executive room was spacious, with a full kitchen and separate living room and bedroom. The problem was two kinds of vermin crawling around, including in and on the beds. We couldn't sleep and checked out, then dragged our bags back and were given a Novotel room at 4:00am. We had to leave by 8am for our travels. We followed up by email, but the incident wasn't handled well.

There were small bugs in the room, and the worn blankets had several hairs left by previous guests. I didn't find it hygienic, so be careful when choosing this hotel.

The reception staff, who were at a hotel counter in another district, were really nice and tried their best to help. Still, even though there was a staffed office in the building, they couldn't deal with problems at the residence. We had several: the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke coming from the A/C, the WiFi didn't work, and we had to arrange parking later because non-locals couldn't use the street spaces. It just wasn't worth it.

The room itself was fine for a stay, but things got off to a bad start. We checked in at Asteroid hotel, at least a 15-minute walk from the Residence Liberty Hotel, where we were staying. The receptionist wouldn't give us the free ride promised on the hotel website, saying the car was being serviced. The kitchenette also came with a catch: although the site says there's one in the room, a notice inside said use of it and its supplies costs 20€ if deep cleaning is needed afterward. Compared with those issues, the other details don't matter much.

The private kitchen was useful for an extra cost, since there wasn't much breakfast nearby, and the tucked-away place is still close to the city center. I was happy with my stay overall. I did take off a few points because check-in wasn't at the residence, the ventilation was poor, and what looked like black mold was in the shower.
