Villa Avesani

The village is small and quiet, a fantastic spot away from the Lake Garda tourist crowds. The grounds are impeccably maintained, and the pool area is lovely. We got a warm welcome, including a bottle of white wine, and everything important was explained in detail. Communication took some gestures because the lady only spoke Italian, but she was really lovely. The apartment, though, was a complete letdown. It was tiny and a bit dirty, and the furnishings and gas stove looked much nicer in the online photos. Maybe the larger apartments by the pool are better, but we can’t say. The price felt high for what we got, and the apartment didn’t live up to those pictures. I really don’t understand the many positive reviews.

We stayed in the Giulietta apartment, which had every comfort, at a gorgeous villa surrounded by greenery. The pool, with its lake-like look, was enchanting. Cicadas made a wonderful sound that drowned out the street noise. Privacy and quiet in the bedroom were the main problem: its window faced the neighbor’s balcony. Their smoke kept coming into our apartment too, though I’d hoped the apartments were non-smoking. I’d still consider staying here on another trip.

Villa Avesani is a lovely place, surrounded by nature. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the services were high quality, and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a chance to unwind and recharge.
