Masseria Ruri Pulcra

I came back for a second stay of several days because I love the warmth, kindness, and old-fashioned family feel of this Masseria. It has real Salento character and an atmosphere that keeps drawing me in. The restaurant is elegant and popular with locals celebrating big occasions, and the seafood is especially good. My room had a spacious, comfortable feel without the trendy look you see everywhere now. I had a large stone terrace with a sea view. Breakfast was generous, with fresh-pressed juice and freshly baked local pastries. There’s no pool, but the clear Salento Sea is right there. The setting is quiet countryside, with local beaches and the lovely village of Patù only a short drive or bike ride away.

The dinner was a wonderful surprise: everything we ate was simply amazing. My wife and I plan to return both to stay and to eat here. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very nice, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A great discovery, highly recommended.

We enjoyed the seafood, fish, and cannoli for dessert, and the service was very good. The staff were kind and helpful, though their English wasn’t very strong. I also appreciated how carefully they looked after customers: they wore masks, and the waiter kept a distance from our table while taking the order. We’ll come back to try more of the menu.

Alessandro gave us perfect service, and the food was really tasty. The tiramisu was marvelous.
