The owners really look after both the place and the people staying there. Whenever we needed anything, they were there to help. Alessandro made us delicious cappuccinos each morning and would offer us one again whenever we came back in. It felt much more like a cozy second home than a hotel, thanks to the homey atmosphere. The location is remarkable, and the service is great. We looked around at the hotels nearby, and this is the one we’d choose. Thanks, Alessandro :)

The villa is near the train station and city centre, and the owner is a lovely woman. We stayed for one night as a couple. I’m not sure whether to call it a three-star hotel or a B&B, but the price felt high for the property. The rooms aren’t soundproof, so we could clearly hear people in the next room and footsteps on the stairs. Our room felt kitsch, with all the book racks and the glass coffee table. We chose to have breakfast there after seeing the photos, but it was a mess. The breakfast area had only a small table and very limited food, nothing like the pictures. There were just two fresh brioches for us, no bread, a coffee pot and a tea pot, but no cappuccino, and not much choice of yogurt. The brioches were tasty, at least. When I asked the woman in charge if we could have more, she said they’d baked only one per guest. For what it costs, breakfast really isn’t worth it. You can get a good one elsewhere in the city centre.

There are so many books and antiques here that you might want to stay in instead of going out. The accommodation is very comfortable and attractive.

The owners were attentive and very helpful, and breakfast came with a range of delicious things to choose from. My friend booked this B&B for a quiet weekend, and we didn’t expect such a vintage feel or such carefully designed rooms. The details really stand out. The apartment is spacious and well furnished, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night at Villa Marisa for a conference, four of us friends. The place looked scenic and well kept at first, but the stay turned into a ridiculous comedy. At midnight, while we were already asleep, we got texts and video calls about “disturbing noises.” Earlier, we’d tried to give up on the evening and get some rest. Breakfast was Italian-style, with no option offered when booking, and came with the comment, “You got yelled at last night.” We argued with the receptionist, got no apology, and were disturbed again at 9:00 AM for checkout and then technical interventions. The parking was chaotic too. It was meant to be first come, first served, but at 6:30 PM they asked us to move our car outside for an expected guest at 9:00 PM. That guest arrived at 10:30 PM. In our room there were dirty cups, just one tiny trash can so we didn’t know where to put the rubbish, and moldy Jacuzzi jets with a smell to die for. Villa Marisa deserves a final curtain call: reception optional, common sense on strike. Our sincere advice is to change the receptionist.
