I’d give this place six stars if I could. The breakfast buffet had so much to try, from croissants and toast to speck, traditional cured meats, cakes, and panna cotta. Everything tasted delicious, and we could easily have spent the whole morning sampling it. Meals also came with music in the background, which was a lovely touch. The restaurant was sublime. At every meal, the kitchen sent a little welcome bite, and that alone felt worth the stay. The first courses were delicate and refined, while the carne salada and sliced venison were unforgettable. Every dessert was excellent too, especially the crème brulee, cakes, and berries. It’s a little corner of paradise, tucked among greenery and quiet, and a handy base for trails and woodland walks around Peio.

The food is excellent, and the place has a refined feel that mixes rustic and modern styles. The owners are very friendly and do their best to make guests comfortable. The San Rocco Hotel looks out over the small Peio Valley, with a lovely view right across it.
