The grounds are lovely and spacious, and the little details around the place have real charm. The rooms vary: some feel newer, while others are more rustic and bring back an older era. I’m fond of places like that. The view is wonderful, and it feels like a special escape from the crowds. Vatolla is within walking distance, a delightful little village where time seems to stand still and you can have dinner for very little. Its small castle is charming and hosts cultural events. Castellabbate is also reachable, about 15-20 minutes away by car, an easy ride for motorcyclists too. The road up from the main road is a bit steep, so motorcyclists should take some care, though it’s nothing too serious. My only suggestion would be to add a ceiling fan for very hot days like this summer. I understand it’s usually much cooler at this altitude. Five stars for anyone who loves beautiful places.

The views are breathtaking and the place is beautiful, but I can’t recommend it, especially for families with children. Animals are kept in cages and seemed poorly cared for and unclean. There were frequent electrical problems that left the outdoor areas dark. Staff kept changing because they weren’t being paid, and, as I understand it, they weren’t insured either. I was also shocked that the owner agreed to let some young people who were staying there use drugs. I’ll leave it at that.

The view is beautiful, and the staff are friendly. It could work well for a quiet weekend in the mountains, with a good breakfast. The location is a bit inconvenient, though, and the animals didn’t seem to be in the best condition.

We’ve been coming back to this wonderful property for a few years and plan to return for many more. The setting is stunning, with a view all its own, and the owners are lovely and incredibly helpful. Highly recommended.
