La Vecchia Quercia

What began as a nightmare weekend turned into a lovely one, thanks to Susanna, her sweet mother, and their family. Our car broke down on the way, so we couldn’t arrive at the planned time. We got there late in the evening, but they waited for us without any trouble and welcomed us so kindly. They even booked a pizzeria for dinner. The B&B is set in the countryside, with rustic rooms that are clean, well kept, and thoughtfully detailed. Breakfast by the pool was fabulous, plentiful, and clearly prepared with care. Thank you so much. We’ll definitely return when we’re in the area.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. We couldn’t use the outdoor pool because it was winter, but it’s there for warmer weather. The B&B is well placed for a short break, roughly midway between Arezzo, Siena, and the Rapolano thermal baths. Our room was beautifully and tastefully decorated to suit the setting, clean, and had comfortable beds. The room could fit up to five people, so it would work well for a large family.

The quality for the price seems excellent to me, and the seasonal pool is lovely. The staff were courteous, and every detail in the rooms had been considered. I run a hospitality business myself, so it bothers me when people put down those who work so hard and with such passion for personal reasons. Whether a place suits your taste is one thing, but it’s easy to recognize when someone’s judgment goes beyond an objective assessment. The setting in the Tuscan hills is excellent too.
